    BC First Nations Mining Summit

Description: The Carrier Sekani Tribal Council, Kaska Tribal Council, Taku River Tlingit First Nation, and the B.C. First Nations Leadership Council are co-hosting the B.C. First Nations Mining Summit, October 7-9, 2008, at the Prince George Civic Centre. This political forum is open to all B.C. First Nations and is being held for the following reasons: *High mineral prices are fuelling intensive exploration activities across our traditional territories. *Currently, there are approximately 20 mine applications filed with the provincial and federal governments. *Now is the time to address the issues related to exploration and mining. *Collectively, we can deal with this sector in a way that takes care of our rights and interests.
