Environmental Assessment of the Proposed Mt. Milligan Copper-Gold Project

    October 29 2008 | Media Releases

Environmental Assessment of the Proposed Mt. Milligan Copper-Gold Project
Open for Comment and Open House

Terrane Metals Corporation (the ‘Proponent’) is proposing to develop an open pit copper-gold mine approximately 90 km northeast of Fort St. James, B.C. The Project would produce an average of 60,000 metric tonnes of ore per day. The proposed Project is subject to review under British Columbia’s Environmental Assessment Act and the
Canadian Environmental Assessment Act. The Proponent has made an application (the ‘Application’) to obtain an environmental assessment certificate which is required before any work can be undertaken on the Project.

There is a 45-day public comment period during which the Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) will accept comments on the proposed Project. The intention of seeking public comments is to ensure that all potential effects – environmental, economic, social, heritage and health – that might result from the Project are identified for consideration by the Proponent and the EAO as part of the assessment process.

The comment period will begin on Oct 2, 2008 and ends at midnight on November 16, 2008. All comments received during this comment period will be considered. In order to provide information to the public about the Application, and to receive comments from the public, the EAO invites the public to attend Open Houses to be held at the following locations:
