    Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency

    CEAA was established in 1994, to prepare for the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act coming into force in early 1995. CEAA is responsible for the overall administration of the federal environmental assessment process. This federal body is accountable to the Minister of the Environment, working in partnership with other federal departments and agencies, provinces and territories, environmental and Aboriginal groups, industry and others to ensure that efforts are coordinated and harmonized. The CEAA headquarters are in Ottawa and there are six regional offices.
